Championship Cup Highlights: Northampton Saints Vs Leinster Rugby (Round 03)
Today's game was dominated by the visiting Leinster side, as they came away with a 37-10 victory from Franklin's Gardens. They came out and started the game as they meant to go on, moving the ball wide using some complex back-line moves which utilised their speed around the field. Ringrose went over for their first try after some good work by veteran, Rob Kearney. Saints hit back with just the one penalty in the first half. They sides went in with the score at 10-3 at the interval.
Northampton looked like a different team after the break. They got off to a flyer as Ahsee Tuala went over in the corner following a magnificent break and pass from JJ Hanrahan. Sean O'Brien was the next to get on the scoresheet for the Blues in the 58' minute.
The turning point in the game came when England skipper, Dylan Hartley, was dismissed for a high tackle on O'Brien. Leinster went on to score three more tries following his dismissal to secure the bonus point. They came through O'Loughlin, Gibson-Park and Isa Nacewa.
