Brumbies appoint new GM of Professional Rugby & Pathways and Head of Women's Rugby & Pathways

The ACT Brumbies are pleased to announce the appointment of Cameron Treloar as General Manager of Professional Rugby & Pathways and James Erwin as Head of Women's Rugby & Pathways.

Currently Head Coach of West Harbour Rugby Club (Sydney Shute Shield), Treloar will commence his time with the Brumbies organisation on 8 July.

Cam has been immersed in all levels of rugby as a professional player and more recently as coach for 20+ years. He is the current Head Coach of West Harbour in the Sydney Shute Shield competition and has held various coaching positions between 2018 and 2024, including a 4-year stint at Warringah. Within these environments, he has been responsible for all aspects of player recruitment and retention, season planning, program development and implementation.

A local from nearby Cooma, was involved Cam involved in the Brumbies Academy program and played for the Vikings Colts at the commencement of his career in 2000. Cam then had considerable time in the Waratahs and Reds programs, before venturing overseas and playing in Italy and France from 2008 to 2014 in a successful professional playing career.

He returning from overseas he joined the NSW Police Force and continued to play in the NRC with the NSW Eagles and North Harbour Rays. His last year playing rugby was in 2017 when he captained Warringah to win the Shute Shield.

“Growing up in Cooma, Southern NSW, a catchment area of the Brumbies, I'm pleased to be returning back to where my playing career started after spending time with the Canberra Vikings and Brumbies Academy in my earlier days."

"I’m excited to work closely with our Super Rugby Pacific, Super Rugby Women's Programs, High-Performance and Pathways staff to continue the organisation's growth and success here at the ACT Brumbies.”

The Club also welcomes James Erwin, who has commenced his time with the club in the Head of Women's Rugby & Pathways role.

The purpose of the Head of Women’s Rugby & Pathways role is to lead the delivery of high-performance programs for our women’s players. James will be responsible for developing and managing the ACT Brumbies women’s programs, including age-grade talent identification processes, as well as delivering holistic player development and coaching strategies aligned with the systems and philosophies of our Super Rugby Women’s team.

Most recently, James has been employed as Associate Director of Sport at the University of Canberra. Tasked with overseeing all performance programs at the University including the Elite Athlete Program, UC7s, FISU and UniSport Nationals teams. Where he has managed all program staff from sports administration, sports development and sports media, with a focus on developing and executing the relevant components of the University Sports Strategy.

James has also been a key figure in our Super Rugby Women's program as an Assistant Coach this year, and as the program lead for the joint ACT Brumbies and University of Canberra Senior Women’s Academy. Which effectively allows for a seamless and constructive transition into his new role.
