The hard work has paid off Hurricanes lock James Broadhurst ahead of his All Blacks debut this Saturday against South Africa.
Broadhurst will start alongside World Rugby Player of the Year Brodie Retallick in the second row for New Zealand.
Running out at one of the most imposing venues in world rugby won’t faze Broadhurst, who was excellent for the Hurricanes throughout the 2015 Super Rugby campaign.
The 27-year-old is desperate to make the most of his opportunity and believes his preparation this season has paid off.
"There were definitely times when I had doubts,” said Broadhurst.
"But I have tried to step up in professionalism and build a solid routine. A big focus for me has been consistency. In the last year especially I think I have done that.
“I don't really know what to expect but I know it's going to be a jump up from what I have faced before.
