Brilliant! Joe Marler's touch of class for France debutant Haouas

Marler provided a moment of pure class and sportsmanship after the clash with France as went to speak to the French coaches to find out a little bit more about the man he had come up against at the Stade de France.

After talking to the coaches, Marler met up with Haoaus in the French changing room enjoying a beer with the test debutant and offered the 25-year-old prop his jersey.

Midi Olympique reported the story on Friday and said that Haouas offered Marler his jersey, but veteran prop turned down the offer from the Frenchman saying: “It’s the jersey from your first cap, you shouldn’t swap it or give it to anyone.”

Excellent gesture from Joe. A real competitor on the pitch, a role model off.

Marler responded to the story diplomatically, saying it happens all over the world.

Either way, we love it.
