Bernard Le Roux out of England clash
- 1955
France lock Bernard Le Roux will take no part in Les Bleus’ clash against England in Round 4, according to a statement issued by the FFR.
Strangely, no reasons have been given for Le Roux’s absence, but the South African-born hard man is set to be replaced by Toulon second-row Swan Rebbadj.
Rebbadj, 26, debuted in the Autumn Nations Cup last year but has not pulled on the blue jersey since then.
France are currently second on the Six Nations log with 9 points, trailing the as yet unbeaten Welsh by 5. Le Roux’s abrasive presence in the engine room will be missed by Fabien Galthie’s charges as they do battle at Twickenham this weekend. England, on 6 points after only one victory, will no doubt take the field with an air of determination as they square up to their old foes, however, they will be met with a French side harbouring a steely resolve as they seek to vanquish the men in white in their quest for the title which they last won 11 years ago.
