Jean-Luc du Preez - Sale Sharks
Deserved to open the scoring on a rain sodden night at the Rec after an industrious performance for Sale. The South African was signed on a short-term deal from the Durban based Sharks franchise and has hit the ground running for the Premiership strugglers in his two matches for Steve Diamond. The Springbok completed all 10 of his tackle attempts and was a willing ball carrier always eager to carry for his side.
Faf de Klerk - Sale Sharks
The World Rugby Player of the Year nominee continues to impress with his performances every week and showed how important he is to Sale's bid for survival following his absence with the Springboks during the Rugby Championship and Autumn Series. The scrum-half managed to take the game by the scruff of the neck with an authoritative showing at the base helping him create the opening try which should have been enough to claim the win but leaves with the Man of the Match award once again.
Cooper Vuna - Bath Rugby
The Tongan powerhouse provided a much needed impact for Bath once he entered the field with 15 minutes to play. He carried hard at the line to create some front foot ball which his side had lacked for too long in the second period. His neat right foot step and strong fend helped him burst down the wing, he then showed an awareness of the open space to slide a well weighted grubber through for Joe Cokanasiga to touch down.
