Back-rower David Denton to join Leicester Tigers

Scotland international back-rower David Denton has agreed a move to Leicester Tigers for the start of the 2018/19 season.

Denton first came to prominence at Edinburgh before moving to Aviva Premiership Rugby in 2015, first with Bath and then with Worcester Warriors.

Tigers head coach Matt O’Connor said: “We’re delighted that David has agreed to come to Leicester. He is a top-quality player with a lot of experience at the highest level and we still think there is more improvement to come in his game.

“He has a useful skillset in possession, he is a physical player, he is a good age profile for us and is just the kind of player we’ve been looking to add to our options in the forward pack. We look forward to working with him.”

Denton moved to Premiership rugby with Bath Rugby in 2015 and joined Worcester Warriors this season.

The 28-year-old has 30 caps for Scotland since his debut in the build-up to the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
