Wasps have confirmed that Ashley Johnson has signed a contract extension with the club.
Since arriving from the Freestate Cheetahs ahead of the 2012/113 season, Johnson has become an integral member of Wasps’ squad and a firm fans’ favourite.
He is in line to make his 150th appearance in black and gold this Saturday when Wasps play Newcastle Falcons at the Ricoh Arena and has already scored 175 points for the club.
Johnson, who has won three caps for the Springboks, is equally at home in the back row or at hooker and played a key role in Wasps’ push to the Aviva Premiership Final last season.
The South African’s commitment to the club and his team mates is evident for all to see in the way he plays his rugby, renowned for his physicality in defence and attack and his ability to couple barn-storming runs with subtle touches that create opportunities for those around him.
