As It Happened: Exeter v Bordeaux

Bordeaux ran in 11 tries against Exeter in the third round of the Champions Cup.

3’ Ubb disallowed try

7’ After multiple penalties Exeter manage to win the ball back in a scramble and Paul Brown-Bampoe beats 2 players and dashes 100m down the field to score the first try of the game.

9’ UBB win the ball back after Exeter kick an up and under, the Exeter defence is all over the place and UBB go clean through to respond with a try.

14’ Lucu holds and dummies the cross-rushing defence and manufactures a great line break and ends in a Damian Penaud try.

30’ Penaud beats a few over running defenders and breaks the line and plays Lucu on his inside who goes over the line.

36’ UBB get a penalty, and they play it quick, it goes out wide and Bielle-Biarry touches it down.

40’ UBB get a penalty just inside the Exeter half, they kick for touch and set up a driving maul which ends up in a try.

44’ Bielle-Biarry kicks the ball before it goes into touch and Penaud catches it and goes over the line.

48’ Exeter swings the ball out wide from a lineout, it falls loose but is picked up by Paul Brown-Bampoe who breaks 2 tackles to go over the line for his second try.

55’ UBB break through, and Exeter fail to scramble back in defence, UBB recycle it quick and score in the corner.

61’ Jallibert taps and go’s and make a couple of metres beating a few defenders and passes to Bielle-Biarry to score.

62’ Damian Penaud intercepts the pass while Exeter is on the break, he runs to the line with no one in front of him but passes to Jallibert 5metres out and he steps one defender to score under the posts.

65’ Van Rensburg breaks the line after a turnover and passes it to substitute Lesgoourgues who scores.

69’ Prop substitute Taufa gets sent off for foul play.

77’ Skip pass from Jalibert to Penaud and he puts on the after burners and scores in the corner.
