John Plumtree and Scott Robertson will welcome back their key players ahead of the New Zealand derby that will decide who tops the New Zealand Super Rugby conference after round 7.
All Blacks skipper and Crusaders' no.8 Kieran Read has been cleared to feature in this Friday's New Zealand Super Rugby derby clash between the Crusaders and Hurricanes.
Read has been out of action for four months but was back in full training on Monday following the Crusaders' 20-12 loss to the Waratahs in Sydney on Saturday.
Crusaders forwards coach Jason Ryan confirmed today that Read has been given the green light to play.
"He's available for selection," said Ryan.
"His back's feeling good, he’s been good mentally as well, which is important."
All Blacks prop Owen Franks was ruled out late for the Crusaders in their loss to the Waratahs. Franks and Scott Barrett will both be available for their match this Friday.
The Hurricanes will also welcome a few All Blacks back to the fold with Ngani Laumape, TJ Perenara and Dane Coles expected to return to the 23 after being rested in the Hurricanes 34-28 win over the Stormers.
Four weeks ago, the Crusaders got the best of the Hurricanes in Christchurch, defeating the Canes 38-22.
