It has been confirmed that All Black centre Ngani Laumape will be moving on from Stade Francais with his next stop being the Japanese League One.
Laumape’s stay in France has not been a successful one with Stade Francais struggling with form in the Top 14. In addition to this, it has been reported that Laumape and his young family have had issues settling in to life in Paris, prompting him to close this chapter.
“His [Lamape’s] family is having a little trouble adjusting to this huge city that is Paris and we have therefore recently studied the possibility of freeing the player,” said club owner Hans Peter-Wild said.
Although there is interest in luring Laumape back to New Zealand so that he may turn out for the All Blacks, relations between the latter and the 29 year-old do not appear to be rosy at present.present.
“Go back and look footage and stats from 2017 till I left, I had better numbers than every midfield in NZ,” he wrote. “They never gave me a proper shot at 12 and then would give me feedback like you’re the form midfielder but just a tough situation.”
“Didn’t take me too to World Cup when everyone knew… then they didn’t want to pay me the same salary for my new contract… would you still keep fighting or go set up your family and kids?”
The exact club that Laumape will link up with in Japan is as yet unclear.
