Prop-forward Adam Brocklebank has signed up for another two seasons with Newcastle Falcons.
The 26-year-old loose-head has made 74 appearances for the Kingston Park club, 24 of them this season, insisting it was an easy decision to remain on Tyneside.
“It’s my eighth year up here, and I love it,” said the Durham University graduate, who played for England Students and came through the Falcons’ senior academy.
“I can’t knock the place, the boys here are great and I’m enjoying my rugby.
“I’m getting plenty of game time, and under the coaching staff here I’m learning all the time and improving.
“They’re putting a huge amount of effort into me, which I’m really appreciative of, and over the next two years I’d like to think I can add a lot to the club to hopefully help push us up the league table.”
Relishing the battle for places, he said: “Big Trevor Davison and Logo Mulipola can play both sides, Phil Brantingham is a talented lad coming up through the academy, Conrad Cade is another big talent here and with guys like Kyle Cooper at the moment there’s a lot of competition.
“That spurs everybody on and helps us keep improving, and I’m really excited about the next couple of seasons here.”
Director of rugby Dean Richards said: “Adam has continued to grow as a player and consistently performs at a very high level for us.
“We’ve spoken a lot about developing our own players, and in Adam we have a great example of someone who has really pushed on through our system.”
