A big battle set for Twickenham Stoop as Quins prepare to poke the Bears
- 1763
Harlequins and Bristol Bears will kick off proceedings in Round 4 of the Premiership when they do battle at the Twickenham Stoop.
The first two rounds of the European contest was not kind to Quins, who fell to Munster (21-7) in Round 1 and then heavily to Racing 92 (49-7) in Round 2.
Bristol fared slightly better, with a victory over Connacht (27-18) and a loss to Clermont (51-38).
On the Premiership front, both Bristol and Harlequins possess 10 points although the former occupy third spot on the log while Quins find themselves in fifth because of points difference.
Quins took a pasting from Exeter in Round 1 before getting things right in Round 2 against Northampton, followed by a 10-point victory at Kingsholm against Gloucester.
Bristol were unable to get the result against Wasps in Round 1 but took control against Worcester Warriors a week later. They then experienced a slight speed-wobble against Northampton in Round 3 but managed, in the end, to pull the game out of the fire, albeit by one point.
The teams settled the 2019-20 tournament with one victory and one loss each. In Round 2, it was Quins who took the spoils 22-17 but were unable to replicate their victory again in Round 13 when Bristol dominated them 28-15.
While Harlequins will enjoy home-ground advantage, there is a general feeling that this one is Bristol’s to lose. Either way, it has the makings of a great contest.
