3 players that impressed: Leinster vs Montpellier
- 3520
Jack Conan
Conan showed his class against Montpellier in his first European start in 2 years. The versatile back rower tore through the French outfit's on demand, as he played a part in a number of Leinster's 8 tries, including a hat-trick of his own to earn the Man of the Match title. As well as his impressive strength in contact, Conan displayed the pace he possesses as he linked up with Nacewa out on the touchline for the first of his three scores. Leo Cullen will certainly struggle to not include Conan for their next game.
Johnny Sexton
Sexton looked at his best in Leinster's thrashing of Montpellier tonight as he reached 500 points in Europe. He orchestrated attacks from the outhalf position with flawless technique, throwing passes with pinpoint accuracy to allow his side to break past the gain line. As well as Sexton's great play with ball in hand, his kicking was on point as he slotted his 3 attempts at goal. One concern for Leinster will be the constant targetting of Sexton, as he received a dangerous tackle by Steyn in the first half.
Adam Byrne
Adam Byrne continues to shine for Leinster when given the chance, as the winger took his chances superbly to touch down for a try as well as play a part in a number of other scores. Byrne was stupendous under the high ball, especially in the build up to his try, when he plucked McGrath's box kick out of the air with ease before linking up with Conan to convert in the corner. The future of Leinster's back three is certainly in safe hands if Byrne and O'Loughlin continue to fire on all cylinders as they have been.
