Newly appointed Wallabies coach Eddie Jones told reporters on Tuesday (January 31) his main goal is to install "pride" back into the Australian side while targeting World Cup glory in France this year.
"We've got to win the World Cup, our target is to win the World Cup. We win the World Cup, it changes things for rugby and Australia so our target is to win the World Cup," he said.
Jones said the upcoming Bledisloe Cup against New Zealand in July will provide a good test ofwhere Australia stand as they prepare for the World Cup. "We're gonna be chasing them down the street", Jones said of the All Blacks, "if we can take New Zealand then we're in a good position to take the World Cup".
This is the second time at the helm of Australia for Jones, who has also coached England and Japan.
