Wales have won 14 of their last 16 matches at the Principality Stadium (L2), their only defeats in that run coming against Ireland in August 2019 and France in February 2020.
Canada will be playing their first Test match since losing to South Africa in their final pool stage game of the 2019 Rugby World Cup; Canada have lost their last eight games, their worst run since losing 10 in a row from August 1998 to October 1999 – a run that included a defeat to Wales.
Wales come into this game as Six Nations champions, having won four of their five games in the Championship in 2021; they did however suffer a late defeat in their most recent match (v France) and will be aiming to avoid consecutive Test defeats for the first time since losing six in a row between February and November 2020.
This will be the first meeting between Wales and Canada since May 2009, when Wales secured a 32-23 victory in Toronto, while it will be their first clash at the Principality Stadium since November 2008, Wales winning 34-13 on the day.
Wales have won 11 of their 12 Test matches against Canada (L1), including each of their last 10 in a row; the Canucks’ solitary victory against Wales came in Cardiff back in November 1993 (26-24).
