Full-Time: Ulster run-out deserved winners at Ravenhill this evening. The nine try rout included a hat-trick for Andrew Trimble and a brace for scrum half Paul Marshall. A sublime showing in attack from all 15 members of the Ulster side in the opening half ensured the bonus point before the game was 30 minutes old. Tonight's emphatic win leaves Ulster in second place and in contention for home playoff come the end of the season. Connacht will have to strongly reassess their game plan after their showing tonight. Lapses in concentration and communication allowed Ulster to walk through their defensive line in some cases. Some spirited spells either side of the half weren't enough to get the visitors back into the game. Ulster outgunned and outpowered the men from the west in every area of the game tonight. Thanks for staying with our live coverage this evening! UR.
The ball is lost forward and Connacht gather possession as we enter the final play of the game
Ulster go in search of one more try as they move up into the Connacht 22 on the attack
Nikora puts in a cross field kick. Heaney is unable to gather as Henshaw collects the ball. But the Connacht full back puts a foot in touch. A sure try if he had stayed in field
Muldoon intercepts a loose pass and kicks the ball down the field thwarting the Ulster attack. A bit more patience and the home side could have been in for the ninth try
Ulster are on the attack again inside the Connacht 22
Good ball retention and continuity forced Connacht to commit to the ruck. McKinney identified the space in behind the defence and put a perfectly weighted grubber through to Gilroy who was able to control the ball and touch down. McKinney converts the extra two points
The Ulster forwards use the choke tackle and win a scrum in a dangerous position inside the Connacht half
Craig Gilroy misses a great opportunity to get on the score sheet, but the young Ulster man is unable to collect the intercept pass. A sure try if only he had managed to get the ball under control
Some nice hands from Griffin and a final offload from McSharry, was enough to create space for sub Leader to score the visitors second of the game. The conversion is added to close the gap slightly
