Half time here at the AJ Bell Stadium in Sale, the sides go in at the break level with both tries coming off the back of rolling mauls and the two young fly halfs, Joe Ford and Tom Heathcote exhanging penalties. A very scrappy first half from both sides with many knock ons. Hopefully the second half will bring more effective and exciting rugby.

The Bath attack proves effective as they get a penalty and Tom Heathcote kicks it straight through the posts to make it all square with only a couple of minutes left in the half.

Joe Ford knocks it on 10m metres from his own line and gives Bath great field position with the scrum, and this could be costly due to how effective the scrum has been so far.

Anthony Perenise is replaced by Kane Palma-Newport due to a cut to the head but he may return before the half is finished.

TRY SALE! Joe Ford opts to kick for the corner from the penalty rather than the posts and it pays off after the drive the maul over the line to get their first try of the game. Tom Heathcote converts the try to put Sale back in the lead by 3.

Bath in a promising position as Joe Ford kicks the ball straight into touch and Bath get the line out inside the Sharks 22m. They set up a driving maul towards the Sale line.
