Try for London Irish! Stade really failing to make use of the man advantage as Shane Geraghty carves open the Stade defence to release winger Tom Fowlie to touch down in the corner. Geraghty fails to add the extras and the score remains at 11-3. Fergus Mulchrone returns to the field of play after his 10 minute spell in the bin.
And remarkably, London Irish manage to hold on! Only to go down the opposite end of the pitch and subsequently set up a shot at goal. Geraghty makes no mistake once more, 2 from 2 for the afternoon to put London Irish back in the lead.
Wave after wave of Stade Francais pressure sees London Irish forced to give away numerous penalties. Referee Neil Paterson has had enough and shows the yellow card - centre Fergus Mulchrone the guilty party. London Irish will certainly have to dig deep to defend the line with a man down.
Despite the early penalty, Stade have really started the brighter of the two teams with relentless pressure deep in Irish territory. Strong and desperate defence from the hosts to keep them out!
But Stade hit back straight away with a penalty of their own. Jerome Porical makes no mistake with the attempt at goal. Excellent response from the visitors.
An excellent start from the hosts sees them draw first blood in this encounter. Captain Shane Geraghty with the kick at goal to put his side in the lead. 3-0 to London Irish.
And we're just underway here at the Madejski Stadium with one late replacement to report. Declan Danaher comes in for Blair Cowan, who appeared to pull-up in the warm-up
Hello all and welcome to Ultimate Rugby’s coverage of what seems to be the feature game of this round of the Amlin Challenge Cup matches with London Irish playing host to Stade Francais in the Madejski Stadium. It’s first versus second here in this tight Pool 5 clash, with both teams already beginning to assert their dominance on the pool having one both of their opening matches. With only 1 point separating the teams, it is very much all to play for – so let’s hope it’s a cracker! Our referee for this afternoon is Neil Paterson.
