Ireland take a 24-3 lead over Italy into halftime. Ireland picked up a yellow card just three minutes in, with Italy slotting the resulting penalty for a 3-0 lead. Ireland hit back shortly after with the games first try and added a penalty to lead 10-3. A second Irish try around the half hour mark saw Ireland in control and they would cross for a late third score for a commanding lead at the beak.
