The Cheetahs take an 11-0 lead over Western Province into halftime. The Cheetahs got off to the perfect start, with a try just a minute in to lead 5-0. WP missed a penalty shortly after, but then piled on the pressure, dominating both territory and possession. However, WP would be unable to capitalize and a second penalty attempt went wide approaching the half hour mark. The Cheetahs would finish the half strongly and added two late penalties for an eleven point advantage at the break.
