England take a 20-8 lead over Italy into halftime. Italy got off to a flying start with a try just 2 and a half minutes in to lead 5-0. England got on the board with a penalty before running in their first try shortly after to lead 8-5 after 15 minutes. Italy leveled matters at 8-8 with a penalty midway through the half. England responded with their second try to regain the lead and would finish the half in style, with their third try giving them a 12 point advantage at the break.
