In the pack Josh Navidi returns from injury replacing Sam Warburton who is on international duty, with Macauley Cook switching to openside flanker. In the second row James down is drafted in for only his second start of the season. Cardiff are missing 22 players in all through injury or either away on international duty so this young inexperienced side have an opportunity to show the coaches that they should be playing every week. As for the away side and reigning champions Leinster make 9 changes to their side with Kirshner, Fanning, Macken, Reid, McLoughlin and Reddan the only players who remain from the win over the Dragons last week. Leinster fans will be happy to see Strauss back in the side and starting tonight after missing a few months with a heart problem and he is joined in the front row with Furlong and Bent starting tonight. Roux and Denton start together in the second row in a new partnership that O'Connor is trying for the first time tonight. In the back row Dominic Ryan gets a start tonight after 2 impressive displays from the bench against Zebre and The Dragons and at number 8 Jack Conan makes his first start tonight for the blues as Jordi Murphy will be on the bench for the Ireland v England match on Saturday. In the backline Gopperth gets the nod at 10 with Madigan on the bench and Leinster fans will be delighted to see Luke Fitzgerald back in the side after injuring himself while on Irish duty.
