TRY AUCKLAND. That's a 3rd try for the hosts inside 25 minutes. I don't think Canterbury can believe what is happening in front of them! This time it is Tenina Sauileoge who crosses the white wash in the right hand corner with relative ease. Excellent offensive display thus far from Auckland with Canterbury simply having no answer at the moment. 25-0
TRY AUCKLAND. It was a numbers game for Auckland as they spread the ball from right to left. The ball ends up in Lolagi Visinia's hands who gives a strong hand off to his opposite number to cross in the corner. 17-0
TRY AUCKLAND. Hickey grabs the first try of the game as he scythes through a gap in the Canterbury defence from 5 metres out. He makes no mistake adding the extras. The visitors have been very much on the back foot for the first 10 minutes. 10-0
Another penalty for Auckland. Hickey makes no mistakes this time around as he dissects the posts from 30 metres out. 3-0
Patrick Osborne pinned for hands in the ruck but Simon Hickey unable to convert a tough opening attempt from the left hand touch line
Beautiful link work brings Auckland into their opposition's half.
Richie Mo'unga gets us underway!
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the ITM Cup with Auckland playing host to Canterbury at Eden Park here this evening. Canterbury come into the game off the back of a large win on Wednesday where they trashed Manawatu, 72-7, in Christchurch. Fly-half Richie Mo’unga was the star that day, bagging 27 points for himself alone. Canterbury coach Scott Robertson has made seven changes to his starting line-up for this game. Matt Symons steps into the second-row position alongside Joel Everson, and Luke Katene takes a spot on the replacements bench for the fixture. George Whitelock is back at number seven and will also captain the side. In the backline, Willi Heinz swaps with Andy Ellis at nine while Adam Whitelock returns to centre, which allows Ryan Crotty to move back into 12. Crotty will also mark a significant milestone on Saturday, playing his 50th game for Canterbury. Meanwhile, Auckland head coach Wayne Pivac has made three changes to the starting XV for this evening's home clash. In the absence of Piri Weepu who is away with the All Blacks in Argentina, Wayne Ngaluafe starts at scrum-half while Tenina Sauileoge is named on the right wing in place of the injured Vince Aso. After coming off the bench to make his Auckland debut last week, Kara Pryor will start at openside as Sean Polwart switches to the blindside to replace the injured Joe Edwards. Auckland will hope to build on their success last time out having beaten Northland, 41-10 just over a week ago. Although they have the home advantage here this evening the face a stern challenge against their rivals here in Eden Park. Kick-off not too far away now, I hope you enjoy the game!
Welcome both teams to Eden Park. Lets see a clean fair battle on the paddock boys!!!! Game on!!!!
