A product of Marlwood School in Bristol, Miles Normandale first thought about making a career from playing rugby after moving to Colston School for sixth form.
Miles completed a three year course at Cardiff Met, where he studied coaching. Normandale sprung to the forefront when Cardiff RFC faced Cardiff Met in the SWALEC Cup and signed for Cardiff Blues in 2013.
The Cardiff Blues lock signed a new deal extending his stay at the Arms Park until at least 2017.
