Will Quins tame the Tigers at the Stoop?
- 924
The third match-up of the round sees Leicester Tigers travelling to the Twickenham Stoop to take on Harlequins in the first of Saturday’s fixtures.
Quins did the business against Bath last weekend, posting a decent final score of 28-15, thus posting their second victory in a row after brushing Wasps aside 49-17 in Round 7 and drawing with Exiles the week before.
Leicester would have snatched some confidence back in Round 8 as they put one past Worcester, 41-24, at Welford Road. In Round 7 they were beaten by Sale Sharks at the same venue, but their favourable and convincing result against Warriors means that they are back in the game.
Quins, with their four wins, two losses and two draws, find themselves in fourth position on the log, four points behind Sale and appear to be in good shape.
Leicester have some work to do in order to ascend into the upper echelons of the overall standings as they currently occupy ninth position with three victories from eight outings and twenty points overall.
Only six points separated the teams on the last occasion that they met, this time at Welford Road, where Quins prevailed 32-26.
An element of revenge will thus be present in the minds of Leicester who will be taking seriously their opportunity inject some vigour into their campaign.
