Who will Toulon’s first choice outhalf be for next season

Quade Cooper
After already signing Ma’a Nonu for next season, Quade Cooper could be the next high profile player to join the French and European champions. Rumours have been circulating that Cooper and Toulon are in advanced talks and the Queenslands Reds outhalf will join Toulon after the World Cup. If Cooper is to join Toulon it will be a major coup for the French side as they look to continue their dominance in European Rugby.
Colin Slade
Another option for Toulon would be to sign All Black Colin Slade. With Slade currently fourth choice outhalf for New Zealand it looks likely he will take up the option to go to Europe next season. It was rumoured that Slade would be joining Conrad Smith at Pau but if Toulon were to offer a similar contract Slade would find it very difficult to turn down the two-time European champions.
Frederic Michalak
After such an impressive performance against Wasps at the weekend, Toulon may decline the opportunity to buy another outhalf. Michalak has always had the talent to be one of the best 10’s in the world but he has always failed to play consistently well throughout a season. Toulon may opt to give him a full season as their first choice outhalf instead of spending big money on a player from the Southern Hemisphere.
