Watch: Ollie Sleightholme impresses in front of Eddie Jones
- 2291
England head coach Eddie Jones was in attendance with the Franklin’s Gardens faithful on Saturday as the Saints fans were treated to a high-scoring thriller in a 30-25 victory over Wasps.
Jones was presumably in attendance to see potential England call ups in action. While David Ribbans was named of the match with an impressive performance, speedster Ollie Sleightholme will have caught the eye of the England boss.
The son of former England winger Jon Sleightholme, Ollie shone on both sides of the ball against Wasps with two standout moments on Saturday.
He scored a brilliant try from 80m out, which was unfortunately chalked off for a slight knock-on in the act of picking the ball up.
⚡️ @olliesleights, take a bow (Part 2).
It may have been chalked off, but this was a very, very special finish. pic.twitter.com/U8spyypQ8F

Although the try didn't have too much of an impact on the game, it was a bit of an insight of what the speedster is capable of.
His highlight on defence was his ability to chase down Wasps flyer Josh Bassett. He managed to get up after making the tackle and win a penalty for his side and seemed to barely break a sweat.

His performance was hailed on Twitter during the game. @RugbyInsideLine called for the winger to be capped this summer.
This will probably be disallowed, but Sleightholme needs to be capped this summer. He is class...

If he goes by get an England call up there’s no justice. Electric!

Ollie Sleightholme, take a bow. You simply don't outrun the Saints wing. He charges back to make a superb try-saving tackle on Josh Bassett, who had intercepted inside his own half. Saints 17-17 Wasps.

Good Lord. Mini-Sleightholme has some wheels.
