On 26 September 2020, Toulon announced that Ma'a Nonu would be returning to the club as injury cover with a number of players also joining the test team for the Autumn Nations Cup.
After two years away from the club, the former All Black agreed to rejoin Toulon on a short term deal. He spent three years at Toulon before returning to New Zealand last year where he played for the Blues in Super Rugby.
After the Super Rugby campaign, he signed for Major League Rugby side San Diego Legion in the United States of America.
Nonu's return to Toulon hit a few snags with COVID-19 restrictions in place as he tried to leave New Zealand with visa issues also stalling his return.
However, Nonu did arrive at Toulon some two weeks ago and made his first appearance for the side on Saturday as Toulon claimed a 9-38 victory over Agen.
Nonu played 56 minutes for the club and came up with this neat kick after Toulon attacked from deep in their own half to set up flanker Massivesi Dakuwaqa for a try in the 19th minute.
Toulon were comfortable in their victory despite Nonu not having a hugely impactful game outside fellow former All Black Isaia Toeava, who filled in at flyhalf for the side.
Nonu carried to the line just twice opting to spread the more more often than not from the centre channel passing four times.
He did manage a turnover and made four of his attempted six tackles.
