Watch: Bizarre scenes as Argentina allow England to run down the clock
- 5740
The Toulouse sevens produced one of the most bizarre scenes on the sevens circuit on Saturday.
During the clash between England and Argentina, Will Homer was allowed to run down the clock for around 2 minutes!
Homer's score in the final minute wasn't enough to see England to victory but they and England secured passage to the quarter-finals.
Controversially, though, as Homer stood in the in-goal area for over two minutes, waiting for the clock to go into the red before touching the ball down and ending the game and Argentina allowed him to do so.
In fact, a few Argentina players were actually called back by their coach and captain Gaston Revol when they started to approach the England player to force him to score the try.

Argentina and England were both happy to do nothing and let the clock run down, as both sides would progress at the expense of Canada thanks to a 19-7 scoreline.
In that match, Argentina needed a win to progress to the quarter-finals, while England only needed to lose by less than 16 points.
Canada were in the running after they stunned Argentina with a superb 19-12 win. The Canadians went in at the break 12-7 up but were pegged back to 12-12 after Tobias Wade’s late try.
However, David Richard danced through the Pumas defence in the final minute to claim a memorable victory.
