Tecklenburg has been found guilty by officials for robust play and recklessness that lead to Highlanders' Dan Pryo's concussion during a Highlanders vs Lions match in Dunedin on March 12.
Tecklenburg has denied that he had made contact with Pryor himself and said that the incident happened directly in front of the referee.
"As the Judicial Committee we considered the following evidence – the video footage of the incident, medical information for the Highlanders' player, Dan Pryor, a brief written statement from Prior and evidence from the player himself. The submissions made for the player by his legal representative were evaluated against the evidence," said judicial committee's Robert Stelzner.
Tecklenburg has been suspended for one week up to and including Saturday 19th March 2016. His team has a bye the weekend thereafter and is scheduled to play on 1 April 2016. The player will be free to play in that match.
