World Rugby Sevens Players of the Year 2018 nominees announced
World Rugby has revealed the shortlists for the Men’s and Women’s Sevens Players of the Year 2018 awards in association with HSBC, which will be presented at the World Rugby Awards at the Salle des Etoiles in Monte Carlo on 25 November.
The shortlists feature players from four nations, including three previous recipients of the prestigious award, with five of them having featured in the dream teams for the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series 2018 or Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018. Full nominees
Munster's injury woes continue
The Munster Medical Department have issued the following squad update ahead of Saturday’s Guinness PRO14 clash against Glasgow Warriors at Thomond Park.
Tommy O’Donnell will undergo a scan today to determine the extent of the injury he sustained to his left ankle on Saturday.
Rhys Marshall was withdrawn during Saturday’s game due to a hamstring injury and will undergo a scan today and be managed by the medical department. Full injury report
Quade Cooper joins Melbourne Rebels
The Melbourne Rebels have announced the signing of Wallaby #830, flyhalf Quade Cooper for the 2019 season.
Cooper has signed a one-year contract and will join the Rebels in mid-November for the start of their 2019 pre-season campaign as he looks to add to his 70 Test and 119 Super Rugby caps. Full story

Former England back rower Thomas Waldrom retires
Former England forward Thomas Waldrom has called time on his playing career at the age of 35.
Born in New Zealand, Waldrom won five caps for England between 2012 and 2013, and he was the Premiership's top try-scorer in 2015 and 2016. Full story
