The Southern Kings look to set to be the first major benefactors of the impending partnership with Toulon and the Southern Kings with the two sides confirming the negotiations this week.
Reports from South Africa have stated that the Kings are set to secure the services of World Cup-winning All Black wing Julian Savea and former Springbok utility forward Jacques Potgieter.
The report in Afrikaans newspaper the Rapport suggests that Savea could be on his way to the South African franchise as part of the new partnership between the two sides with newly appointed Director of Rugby Robbie Kempson looking to improve the Kings' performance in the PRO14.
The two big signings are part of Robbie Kempson's plans to make the Kings a force in the PRO14 with the side reportedly interested in Mathieu Bastareaud - who has expressed his desire to test himself in other competition, more specifically Super Rugby.
The Kings have undergone numerous major changes since the Great Rugby company in the Whole Wide World (Pty) Ltd bought 74% of the franchise and the new signings could take the Kings to the next level.
The Kings are also looking to offload around 20 contract players at the end of the season as Kempson does a complete overhaul of the squad while the Southern Kings Academy has also been re-opened.
Controversial Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal has stated that Savea can leave the club at the end of the season which could see the winger make his way to the Eastern Cape.
Port Elizabeth born, Potgieter could return to his hometown where he would play out what the paper describes as his final season of rugby.
