The Pro D2 is back

The Pro D2 is back

After two long months of waiting, PROD2 is back on Thursday with a top-of-the-table match between Brive and Oyonnax which will perfectly launch a season that promises to be even more exciting than the previous one.

THE MATCH > Brive-Oyonnax, a perfect start

One of the favourites for the championship title is hosting the former TOP14 team. Could you dream of a better match to kick off the 2024-2025 season? It's hard to make it as exciting as these two teams will want to start with a win that would allow them to assert themselves. At home, the Brivistes will inevitably be under a little more pressure but they will be able to count on the experience gained last year as well as an XXL recruitment. Lawes, Bosch, Pimienta will face an ambitious Oyomen team looking for an immediate comeback. Tafili, Narisia, Holmes, Qadiri and others will be present in the Ain ranks, during an inaugural clash eagerly awaited by supporters and all rugby fans

THE STATS > 82 days later

On June 8, Vannes brandished the champion's shield, ending nearly 6 months of suspense. 82 days later, the Bretons took the lead in the elite, for the first time in their history, and Oyonnax and Nice joined the PROD2. The kick-off is imminent for this new opus in a championship that continues to gain momentum. International stars, multiple favorites, battle for survival, this season again the 2nd division promises to be as undecided as it is thrilling.

THE PLAYERS > Lawes, impact in 3, 2, 1…

Everyone remembers his devastating tackle on Jules Plisson in 2015. That's how he entered the collective memory and was both feared and hated by French fans. Courtney Lawes doesn't hold a grudge against the fans of Les Bleus since he is about to discover France. The monumental second row with 105 caps for England has signed with Brive. A final challenge for the one who has already won 3 Six Nations Tournaments and now wants to help put Brive back in the TOP14.

THE PROGRAM > Nice first against Béziers, Provence has a status to assume

This Friday's advanced match will be a discovery. That of the Niçois who will take their first steps in PROD2 when they host Béziers. Not a departure for the former National champions who will challenge the former semi-finalists of the last edition. We will then be happy to resume our habits with a beautiful Multiplex during which great matches are expected. Mont-de-Marsan – Colomiers or Dax – Montauban will be to the taste of the most nostalgic before attending the departure of Provence. Counting among the long list of favorites, the Provençaux are firmly awaiting Agen, who want to react after last season's disappointing.
