Super Rugby Round 8: Reds v Stormers

The Queensland Reds ground out a 24-12 home win over the Stormers in round 8 of Super Rugby. The first half was a tight affair which saw neither side able to put points on the board as they headed into the break deadlocked at 0-0. The Stormers did pick up a yellow card in the final minute of the first half and the Reds capitalized on their numerical advantage with two quick tries to start the second forty to lead 14-0. The Stormers hit back shortly after with their first score to trail 14-7 heading into the final quarter. The Reds took control of the match with their third try to lead 21-7 with a little over ten minutes to play. The Stormers crossed for a late try to give themselves a chance, but the Reds slotted a penalty soon after to wrap up the victory.
