The Reds had a poor 2016 by their high standards, by finishing 4th position in the Australia conference. Although the had a poor 2016 they did do well at times, this showed their true potential, such as the 28-27 victory against the Highlanders.
The recruitment of veterans Stephen Moore and George Smith will excite the Queensland fans and will bring experience and quality to the Forward pack.
They have also extended Nick Frisby’s contract and the return of Quad Cooper who will further boost their chances of a play-off place.
Coach Nick stiles will be happy with the mixture of youth and experience in his squad with Wallabies Samu Kerevi and James Slipper headlining his squad.
The Reds start their Super Rugby campaign when they host the Sharks at Suncorp Stadium on 24 February.
