Staying focused for the Semi Final losers
- 1602
Munster, Sale, Harlequins and Toulouse all bowed out of their European competitions this weekend but all 4 sides need to put that aside as they return to domestic action this weekend.
Munster head into the final round of Pro14 action 3 points off top spot in Conference A with Glasgow ahead of them and set to face Edinburgh at home this weekend. Munster host Connacht who essentially are playing a dead rubber as their position can not change and will face Ulster away in the first knock out game the following week. Munster however, are hunting for top spot on the table and should Glasgow slip up this weekend at home could give up home ground advantage in the play offs.
Should results go their way, Sale could move up as high as 5th spot on the Premiership table with a bonus point win over Bath at home this weekend. The Sharks, currently in 8th, could put in a late charge for the Semi Finals with their remaining games against Bath (H), Bristol (A) & Gloucester (H)
Harlequins play away at Premiership leaders Exeter Chiefs, who are 9 points ahead of 2nd place Saracens. Quins are in 4th and 10 points off 3rd spot but have Wasps, Saints and Bath all able to overtake them this weekend should they lose. Harlequins face Exeter (A), Leicester Tigers (H) & Wasps (A) to finish off the league portion of the season.
Toulouse have 4 games left in the Top 14 and hold an 8 point lead at the top with Clermont in 2nd on 72 points and Lyon in 3rd on 65 points. They have secured home ground advantage and a week off you feel as they need just 5 points to stay in the top 2 with games against Castres (A), Pau (H), Bordeaux (A) and Perpignan (H) to close off the French season.
