Star Performers - France v Wallabies

Bernard Foley
The out-half kept the scoreboard ticking over for his Australian side tonight and as always, was the key to their strong backline having a big impact on the game. The ten even got over for a try himself as he cut in on a hard line to link with his scrum-half, Will Genia. He spotted the space out wide for Kuridrani’s fantastic solo effort and as always, his ball handling skills were fantastic. The Aussie also kicked well out of hand with help from his outside centre, Kyle Godwin.
David Pocock
The Australian skipper on the night slotted seamlessly back into the number seven shirt in the absence of Michael Hooper. As expected he spoiled the French ball throughout the game, winning many crucial turnovers. He also threatened with ball in hand and probably carried more than usual. As ever he was a rock in defence, proving it almost impossible to beat him in a one on one. A very astute performance from Brumbies back rower. He is as ever a very important component of this strong Wallabies side.

The sevens specialist was probably the most threatening presence on the park tonight. He went over for the first try of the game after seventeen minutes after some clever play by his fullback, Scott Spedding. The islander was also the creator of his out-half, Doussain’s, score as he gave a sumptuous offload to the ten out wide to get France back in the game. The French often used the winger off of first phase ball on the set piece to get them on the front foot. He played a starring role in a French back three that may be a great asset to their team in the coming Six Nations.
