Southern Kings injury update

Coach Deon Davids has confirmed that hooker Martin Ferreira, winger Luzuko Vulindlu and flyhalf Elgar Watts will be unavailable for the Jaguares game.
Ferreira will be out for the season with a rib dislocation. In Ferreira and Watts’ case, there are alternative starting options, but the Kings are getting a bit thin on the wing.
“Martin has a dislocated rib and we won’t see him coming back for the rest of the season while Luzuko has a hamstring tear that will require further scans before we know how long he will be out for,” said Davids.
“Elgar has a foot tendon injury similar to the one that has troubled Stefan Watermeyer and he will be out for two weeks.”
With the Kings not playing again until the first weekend in July, the Watts injury shouldn’t be a major concern, and Louis Fouche will continue in the No 10 jersey.
The news on looseforward Thembelani Bholi, who was stretchered off at Kings Park, is positive. According to Davids, he didn’t suffer any concussion and although he is being treated for “a bit of neck stiffness” he will be available for Friday night’s game.
