Shield Fever breaks Log o Wood

Hawke's Bay won one of New Zealand Rugby's greatest possession after beating Wellington and taking hold of the Ranfurly Shiels. 

Following that win things went downhill over the weekend after the shield was broken and plenty of accusations being brought up. Stuff.co.nz reporting that drunk driving and drugs were involved in the celebrations too.

NZ Rugby has taken the famous Ranfurly Shield trophy off Hawke’s Bay after it was badly damaged during celebrations after the side’s win over Wellington.

NZ Rugby general manager community rugby Steve Lancaster said the national body was “deeply disappointed’’ at what had unfolded, and would now take the Ranfurly Shield off Hawke’s Bay to assess the damage inflicted during the team’s celebrations after it beat Wellington at the weekend.
