Sarries Fight Till The End

It was a hearty performance from both sides but in the end it was the Saracens who held on until the end. The game ended 22-27 as the Leicester Tigers went down fighting. Having been 21-3 down at the break, the Tigers did well to claw themselves back into the game but in the end the Sarries held on to fight off the claw back. Ill-discipline also nearly let the away side down as they saw two of their men sent to the bin in the space of three minutes in the last 15 minutes of the game.

Alex Lozowski - Saracens

He began the game with two good defensive efforts and had he not been present would have been guaranteed tries. You could see him working hard to hold the ball up in the first TMO decision and he did well to cover for the second. However his moment in the game came once the pressure from the Leicester Tigers had subsided and right after Ben Spencer had scored a break away try. Lozowski received the ball out wide with a man to beat. A strong fend and a great turn of pace to beat two defenders proved too powerful for the opposition and he ran in the games third try. His kick chases from the resets gave the Sarries some valuable ball.

Max Malins - Saracens

After Malins performance he must have been reminiscing of the performances he stringed that led to England winning the Junior Championship two years ago. A cool, calm and collected performance from the 21 year old tonight. His coming of age was proved when he was served the ball following a scrum. He dummied his inside men and headed through a gap that opened. However it was his vision following that break that had many on social media posting what ensued. Instead of choosing the easier option of playing his outside support, he stepped back inside beating three defenders. A long and well timed pass to Alex Lewington was too much for Leicester as Lewington would cross over for the try.

Sam Harrison - Leicester Tigers

It was going to take a change in mind-set during the break and Sam Harrison brought that right into the game. His quick service from the base quite often put his side on the front foot when they needed it most. Not only was he quick to the break down but it was his ability to pick out the right players to hit the advantage line that put the Sarries under pressure. He was also secure under the high ball.
