Gloucester Rugby have announced that Argentina international Santiago Carreras has penned a new deal to remain at Kingsholm.
The versatile back who is capable of playing across the back line joined Gloucester Rugby in January of 2021 and has gone on to make 32 appearances, scoring 30 points.
Brave in defence and under the high ball, Carreras is also an attacking weapon and has shown progression in his game during his time at Gloucester Rugby.
Head Coach, George Skivington, is delighted that the 15-time capped Puma will be staying at Kingsholm.
“Santi is an extremely brave rugby player who always puts his body on the line.
“He is a real talent and is able to do things on the rugby pitch that you can’t teach. He is a gifted rugby player and I am delighted to have retained his services.”
Gloucester Rugby’s Chief Operating Officer Alex Brown is pleased to have the Argentine international sign on.
“Santiago Carreras is one of the most exciting players in rugby and it is easy to forget how young he is. Just 24 years old, he is still developing his game and we only expect him to get better.
“We’re delighted that he wants to stay here at Kingsholm.”
