ON-FIELD REACTION
Nicolas Sanchez, Mastercard Player of the Match
On the win:
"It was very special for me. My family are here, 100 caps. I am very happy!"
On the match being an opportunity for Argentina:
"The most important thing is the team, we planned for this. We play for the team, not for individuals. We are very happy."
Jeronimo de la Fuente, captain and centre
On the win:
"It's a very good week, Chile were difficult. We are so happy for the win, it's a very good time to play with this team"
On the connection the team feels for Chile:
"It's very important for the South American region this kind of match so we are happy and [we want] more matches like this."
Michael Cheika, head coach
On the intensity:
"I think the intensity was good, we had some moments where we dropped off a bit. They got a bit carried away as opposed to just getting the things done that we want to but a lot of those guys haven't played a lot of footy recently. So it takes a bit of time. I thought we handled the occasion well, we respected the opposition a lot and some of the things we wanted to work on were there."
On if they are closer to playing their best rugby:
"You can never measure it and it is never lineal, you are never going to go up and up. You have to take those steps back. It's about how you come back from those moments. We aren't up there in the top four so we have to make sure when things don't get right we [get back on track]."
On Japan:
"They are a great team, they are quarter-finalists from the last World Cup and we're not so we're very hungry to be in that position."
