Newcastle Falcons scrum-half Sam Stuart is the latest player to renew terms with the Premiership club, signing a two-year contract extension.
The 27-year-old has made 32 appearances for the Falcons since joining from Richmond in the summer of 2017, with 16 of those coming in the Premiership
A former England age-group representative who made his professional breakthrough at Harlequins under current Newcastle boss Dean Richards, Stuart said: “I’ve really enjoyed my two seasons up here and was always keen to stay.
“Although we are in a little bit of a predicament at the moment I am totally confident we will get out of it and get back up to where we were last season, competing on multiple fronts.”
Richards said: “Sam is a very skilful player who has proven he is able to handle top-level club rugby, so it’s great news that he will be remaining with us.
“He has had to be patient at times but he has worked hard at his game, and taken his opportunities when they have come. We have a strong group of scrum-halves at the club and Sam is very much a part of that.”
