Sale Sharks sign Mike Phillips

Mike started his career at Scarlets at the age of 20 and then moved to Cardiff Blues, Ospreys and Bayonne before joining Racing 92.

Mike has played 15 games this season for Racing 92 and is expected to be involved in the match day squad for the European Champions Cup final next week.

He has won 94 caps for Wales (a record for a scrum half) and also played 5 Tests for the British and Irish Lions (having toured in 2009 + 2013)

Director of Rugby Steve Diamond said: " Mike will fit perfectly into our plans here at Sale Sharks. He is a big, powerful and very skilful player and has plenty of experience playing at the top level of the game.

"Mike will be one of three ex Racing 92 players at the club next season alongside Brian Mujati and Juandre Kruger."
