Michael Cheika subjected to 'crazy' threats over Folau stance
Michael Cheika was threatened in the street and at games after overlooking Israel Folau before he was sacked.
Australia head coach Michael Cheika has revealed he was threatened by fans after refusing to pick Israel Folau due to his controversial social media posts.
Folau was sacked by Rugby Australia in May for a "high-level breach" of contract after the full-back posted "hell awaits drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists and idolaters" on Instagram.
Cheika overlooked Folau before he was sanctioned, stating "the team is king", and the Wallabies boss has revealed that stance did not go down well with some supporters. Full story
All Blacks refute SBW injury rumours
The All Blacks have denied speculation that star inside centre Sonny Bill Williams may be ruled out of the World Cup due to an injury.
Williams has been suffering from a calf injury in the build-up to the showpiece event in Japan and has struggled with multiple injuries since the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
The rumours intensified when former World Cup commentator Hamish McKay cited a 'trustworthy' source that Williams' withdrawal was imminent and suggested that Williams would soon be heading home, with Ngani Laumape expected to replace him. Full story

Beard is set to join Wales’ World Cup squad in Japan early next week after having his appendix removed, while his squad colleague Hill is continuing to recover from a stress fracture in his leg, with the second pool fixture against Australia on September 29 having been his stated initial target.
