Ross Chisholm promoted to Head Coach of Harlequins Women

Harlequins have today confirmed a change to the women’s coaching team for the 2024/25 season.

The change has been confirmed following a review of the 2023/24 season and the Club’s ongoing vision to build one of the strongest women’s programmes in the Northern Hemisphere.

Amy Turner has moved from Head Coach on the Women’s programme into a new role as Pathway Coach, supporting the transition and development of players through the Club’s Men’s pathway and Academy.

Commenting on her new role, Turner said: “I’m excited to take on this new challenge as a Pathway Coach and can’t wait to get started! I am looking forward to working in a different aspect of the Club’s high-performance programme and embracing a new challenge. I’ve enjoyed my time with Harlequins Women and I’m hugely thankful to everyone who I have worked with over the past two seasons, I have learned more than I ever imagined.”

Ross Chisholm has been promoted to Head Coach of the Women’s Programme, moving into the role after one season as Attack and Transition Coach. The former player, who amassed 128 first-team appearances for Quins over a 14-year playing career, will begin his new role as Head Coach with immediate effect.

Speaking ahead of his appointment, Chisholm said: “It’s a very special feeling to be named Head Coach of Harlequins Women. I have loved my time working with the players and coaches, and I’m excited to take on this very important role. I strongly believe we are in a good position to build on last season with some exciting new signings incoming, and some additional coaching support to be announced shortly.”

Director of Rugby Billy Millard added: “We’re thrilled to appoint Ross as our Women’s Head Coach. He’s a true Harlequin, who has enormous experience at our Club, and is ready to take this important step forward in his coaching career. We look forward to his impact as we continue to grow and evolve our women’s programme.

She has been a huge advocate for the growth of women’s rugby and has worked exceptionally hard to develop our programme and navigate the challenges of the past season.
