Rising Star In High Demand In Europe After Reds Exit

Former Reds fly-half Isaac Lucas finds himself in high demand following his exit from the Super Rugby franchise.
According to the Rugby Paper, Glasgow Warriors, Munster, Bath, Edinburgh and London Irish all have their sights set on the 21-year-old’s signature.
Lucas is more than capable at either fly-half or fullback. He, along with Izack Rodda and Harry Hockings, left the Reds after refusing to accept a pay-cut aimed at easing the financial strain on Rugby Australia.
Lucas has been labelled a prodigious talent and has been expected to embark on a long career in the Wallabies jersey. He represented Australia U20 in 2018 and 2019, making his Super Rugby debut in the latter year.
Rugby Australia will take the recent news with a high degree of seriousness as, should the youngster be snapped up by an overseas club, he will not be eligible for national selection. Such a loss would be significant as Lucas is no doubt a big name for the future in rugby. His skill-set and method on attack is superb; his running onto the ball and quick feet brining out the best in the players around him, not to mention his solid defence and educated boot.
The Reds' loss will no doubt be another club's gain. Rugby Australia will just be hoping that Lucas' signature lands on the dotted line of a local contract.
