PRO14 Highlights: Scarlets v Leinster
- 1479
It was obvious from the outset that this game was going to be tight with the scoreboard reading 0-0 at the interval. Leinster started the second half on the front foot with Ed Byrne's try from a series of pick and go's giving the visitors a foothold into the game. Scarlets responded with a superb score from Paul Asquith after he beat James Lowe on the inside shoulder and muscled his way over from close range. Outhalf Ross Byrne showed he can do it on the big occasion after he drilled a touchline penalty and gave Leinster a 3 point lead with 8 minutes remaining. The visitors looked to be in control but conceded a last-minute penalty and Dan Jones punished them. He levelled the scores at 10-10 with the last kick of the game which is a decent result for Scarlets considering how many injuries and people they have on international duty. Special mention to Tadhg Beirne who was immense at the breakdown and carried powerfully at every opportunity - The sooner he puts on an Irish jersey the better! FT Scarlets 10 Leinster 10
