PRO 14 Highlights: Edinburgh v Ospreys
- 985
The Ospreys got their Pro14 campaign off to the perfect start with a 25-10 away win over Edinburgh in the opening round. Edinburgh opened the scoring with a penalty try 12 minutes in, with the Ospreys picking up a yellow card in the process. A minute later and Edinburgh were also down to 14 players after picking up a yellow card of their own. The Ospreys immediately hit back with a try to level things up at 7-7. An Ospreys penalty saw the visitors edge ahead and they went over for a second try around the half hour mark to lead 17-7. Another Ospreys penalty followed, with Edinburgh cancelling that out with a penalty with the final play of the half as the hosts trailed 20-10 at the break. The Ospreys crossed for their third try 15 minutes into the second half to make it a three score ball game at 25-10. No further points would be scored, but it was the way the Ospreys controlled the final quarter, keeping Edinburgh pinned deep in their half that was so impressive. Fantastic start for the Ospreys who looked a completely different team from last season, while the same can be said for last season's semi-finalists Edinburgh but in a negative light.
